Well, after being here for a few months I've finally been able to make another new post! It's been a while, and I'll try to be more regular from now on.
This update is for photos from my recent ski trip to Fall's Creek in North East Victoria (Australia). I've never skied before in my life, so it was definitely a new experience. The first day left me quite annoyed with myself because my body didn't want to cooperate haha... my brain was sending signals and my legs and feet weren't complying! Naughty limbs!
In any case, I persevered and by the end of the day I was able to stop and have a bit more control on the gentle slopes. Yay! I was still a bit sad though, because everyone else I went with (8 others) were doing alot better. Hmm... maybe I should try snowboarding next time...
Anyway, I have some pictures from my D-SLR to put up. Unfortunately, no action shots or pictures from the top of the mountain as I was too scared to take it up given my lack of skiing ability. Plus it was damn cold, I haven't tested it in cooler weather before; so all I have are a few shots from down the bottom of the slopes/runs. Enjoy :)
Some photos from "Day 2" coming soon :)
"If you love something, Set it free... If it comes back, it's yours, If it doesn't, it never was yours...."
...but sometimes we're scared that we will lose something we love dearly, forever...
It's has been so long since my last update... The reason being I have been moving house, state and job! So much to be organised there and it's finally all done, just waiting for my internet to be reconnected in the next few days (I'm stealing the internet connection at my friend's house at the moment, my workplace blocks vox :( )...
So, alot has been happening, 4 weeks into my new job and I finally feel that I'm settling into it; but it's still very stressful, especially in the last month of the financial year when all the projects have to deliver!
I've made alot of new friends whilst being here; a lot of my workmates and I get along well now and we go for drinks every week which is nice. My peers are great (the managers/leads at the same "level" as me) and the associates/guys "lower" are willing to work to any task I give them -- which makes my job a bit easier! Slightly... It's a good team to work in; out of the 5000 people or so in this area in the company (Telstra has around 40,000 total) we are supposed to be "the best of the best"; doing things better, quicker and smarter. It's nice to think I'm in a new team like that, we're paving our own way with brand new technologies (so we need to work out how they work)... exciting times...
Anyway, enough about work! I also have met many other friends here... most are from Malaysia but a few from HK or TW. I've been introduced to some, who in turn introduce me to their friends, and then their friends, etc. So slowly know more than just 3 people here :)
My friends are great, some are closer than others... some are special to me (you know who you are), and I don't know what I'd do here without them... Definitely was the right choice moving to Melbourne...
Photos of the move are coming soon :) But for now... it's breakfast time...
I've been going through my last few folders that I hadn't processed yet and picking out some of the shots; these are generally from around Launceston (near my work place, or the river). Except for the last two shots; not much more to say about them really. Enjoy :)
HDR: Old style building in Launceston.
B&W: 'Grass' by the banks of the tamar river.
HDR: Photos of the Tamar River area, just North of Launceston.
HDR: A photo of the town clock behind the town hall, as the sun is rising in the morning.
Photos of a fountain on Swanston St. in Melbourne.
That's all folks! :)
Not referring to the Crystal Method song, but rather thought I'd get around to posting pics of my new photographic toy. I won't go into specs, etc.; plus I'm sure most people into photography know what it is... but, here it is anyways -- my:
Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Premium Kit with EF 24-105mm F\4L USM lens)
A good investment, I think...
Since it's been so long since an update I guess I'd better put up some photos to keep you all entertained (rather than reading about my boring life ;) hehe)...
So, here are some photos from the last few weeks... a few are HDR. :)
A picture of my hometown, Launceston, at my work place looking towards the sunset.
Beautiful sunset over the Tamar river, this is very typical so no pink, etc in the sky.
A photo of the stars in the night sky above my house (looking almost directly up). A picture of a cathedral on La Trobe St. in Melbourne. I wish it had come out better, maybe I can edit more later. And finally a few shots of buildings down the West side of Melbourne, towards the Docklands (behind the DFO ;) )
It's been over a month now since my last blog update, I have felt I just haven't had time to do so! Finally, after 5 weeks of extremely long hours at work I'm on break and I can write a few posts!
I have been accepted for the job that I applied for and I'll be moving to Melbourne (Vic, Aus) at the end of next week. It's so soon and I haven't found a place yet! So hard to find at the moment (within a short time period) *sigh*...
Anyway, I will be focussing on that but will definitely make a post before I go.

Last weekend I went for a trip to Melbourne for 4 days for a holiday to see some friends. I had a great time over there and it was so nice to spend time with my friends. On two occasions we played "Big 2" ('Da Lao Er' / 'Choh Dai Di'); a game that I only was recently introduced to but it's alot of fun! I still need to get used to the 5 card plays, for what is higher (flush, straight, etc.) but other than that I can play okay... I even won a few (very few though haha). It was nice to sit down and spend time with friends, and I hope to see them again soon once I move to Melbourne! :)
Last night I was asked to do some photos for a child's birthday party, so that the mother didn't have to worry about that when doing everything else, a few hours before it was meant to be held. My first actual "job" (not paid though, as it was for someone I know and the first time to do this type of photography). Some photos below (note that you'll need to be in my neighbourhood to see, due to the pictures being of children and this blog being public ^-~ ).
Some nice shots there :) Kids are so hard to capture when they're running around~
Loved and lost... Now depressed... so I may write some more in the blog soon if I get the chance... read more
